“For years, regional CAYA teams have hosted local, monthly communication groups. When most of us started to go virtual in 2020, we asked ourselves, what would it look like to bring all these groups together for one big virtual gathering? In October of 2021, we attempted this, and despite the potential obstacles that can impact virtual events, it was a success. CAYA clients from all over the province attended the Chat. To start, everyone took turns to introduce themselves and say where they were from. The group then splintered into smaller rooms led by CAYA staff for fun, Halloween-themed Mad Libs. We all then regrouped to share our creations. The overwhelming response from clients who attended the event was that they enjoyed connecting with others from around the province and hoped we could do it again. CAYA’s current plan is to host this event twice a year!”
