I am writing to share a recent experience with CAYA services. My daughter uses an Accent communication device. Throughout her adult life we have been very grateful for the comprehensive and immediate support that has allowed her to communicate. What a gift! And communicate she does! She is writing her 8th musical which the family performs annually. She always gives herself the leading role and uses the Accent to deliver her lines.
Recently we were provided with a new mounting system that raises her device more at eye level which ultimately has also improved her position in her wheelchair. The mounting system is stronger, and the weight of the device is supported better. This whole arrangement was done via a very slick virtual assessment. The new pieces came in just a few days and the instructions were brilliantly provided. Thank you, Jan, for coordinating this, for all your advocating and support you have provided over the many years. Thank you to the entire CAYA team! I can’t imagine Genevieve’s life without the invaluable communication supports CAYA provides.
