AAC users from across the Okanagan gathered at Spirit Square on Peach Orchard Beach in Summerland in June to celebrate being together again with food, games, and conversations with AAC devices. When the group was asked in advance what they would like as toppings on their hot dogs, one participant insisted (with his iPad with TouchChat WordPower 80) that gummy worms would be a good idea! CAYA SLP-Assistant, Tim dutifully brought along gummy worms with the ketchup, mustard, relish and onions. When it came down to it, Levi happily put his gummy worm on the side. Everyone enjoyed hot dogs, lawn games and most of all, each other’s company after 3 years apart.
